When asked by guests at Birchwood Lodge what there is to do up here, our front desk staff usually replies with a question back, “What kinds of things do you like to do when you’re at home?”  Their answers give us some idea for suggestions of the things they might want to do right here in the area. Recently we came upon some postings by visitors on Trip Advisor, listing their top rated attractions and activities to see and do in Sister Bay. Take a look at the list and see if there are places that you haven’t visited here that you can add to your itinerary the next time you’re up here. Things to See/Do in Sister Bay: Door County Creamery (tasty goat cheese and gelato), Seaquist Farm Market (the sampling tables feature a wide variety of jellies, dips, etc., and try the apple cider donuts), Waterfront Park (stroll the boardwalk and view the boats docked along the shore), Segway Tours (try a tour off the beaten path), Sister Bay Boat Tours and Rentals (the sunset cruise features live music), Frykman Studio Gallery (see the latest carvings by local artists), Sister Bay Beach (a lovely, lively, clean, little beach downtown), Corner of the Past Museum (see home/farm treasures and artifacts in a beautiful cluster of historic buildings, Saturday Farmers Market, too!), Holy Transfiguration Chapel and Woods (an octagonal shaped Eastern Orthodox Chapel, in a residential neighborhood, worth the visit!), Sister Bay Athletic Complex (try the new frisbee golf course, fun for all ages, great ice skating rink in winter, too). The best thing about this list is that they are all located within walking distance when you stay at Birchwood Lodge. You might want to use our free bicycles for your adventures in Sister Bay. We’ll provide an easy map to all these destinations, too. Don’t forget to make your spring and summer reservations early.
