Door county has an abundance of festivals throughout the year. Return visitors here tell us that the festivals in the fall are their favorites. With that cue, let me remind you of the fall events this year so that you can firm up your reservations at Birchwood Lodge to enjoy all the fun and exciting activities in Sister Bay and other villages and towns. Marina Fest is first on the fall schedule. This festival, traditionally held on the Saturday before Labor Day (August 31st September 3rd this year), was created to pay tribute to the Sister Bay Marina, which was rebuilt in 1993. The village had such a great response to the event the first year that they decided to make it an annual event! The festival includes all of the things that make outdoor festivals in Door County so great – live entertainment, food & beverages, and fireworks! Pumpkin Patch Festival (traditionally held the first weekend of October, October 5th-7th this year) in Egg Harbor, is a fun-filled weekend, with live music, carnival rides, arts & crafts vendors, face painting, pumpkin & scarecrow displays, roaming magician, kids games & activities, silent auction, food and fun! The most highly anticipated festival of all is Fall Fest in Sister Bay (the second weekend of October, October 12th – 15th in 2018). 2018 marks the 74th annual Fall Fest in Sister Bay. What began as a celebration and reward for the Door County tourist workers after a busy summer season has evolved into one of the largest weekend celebrations on the peninsula! A parade, arts & crafts fair, food booths, live entertainment, and children’s activities make this a “must-do” weekend. PLEASE NOTE: We still have some lodging availability for all of these festivals, and there is a minimum three nights stay required.
