When you’re coming up to northern Door County throughout the spring, summer, fall and winter of 2019, please be aware of major road construction projects that are in progress in the Village of Ephraim. Please note: A local project on WIS 42 proposed by the village of Ephraim in Ephraim will be conducted in concurrence with the state highway project. Refer to the details below:
The traffic impacts and detour routes for the WIS 42 state highway project are as follows:
- March 2019 to June 2019
- WIS 42 open to traffic with flagging operations.
- No work on WIS 42 for Memorial Day weekend and Fyr Ball Festival weekend.
- No work on the weekends after May 31.
- July 2019 – August 2019
- No work on WIS 42.
- September 2019 – Early October 2019
- WIS 42 open to traffic with flagging operations.
- No work on weekends.
- Mid-October 2019 – Winter Shutdown
- WIS 42 northbound will remain open to traffic with flagging operations.
- WIS 42 southbound will be closed from Shore Road to County F.
- WIS 42 southbound will be detoured via County E, County A, and County F. (Closure is allowed through November 22, 2019. Winter shutdown may occur after this).
WE RECOMMEND THAT BIRCHWOOD LODGE GUESTS USE WI- HIGHWAY 57 TO TRAVEL NORTH TO OUR LOCATION AND AVOID THE CONSTRUCTION AND DETOURS.
