Teenagers today are sometimes very hard to please, and especially hard to motivate when they are on vacation.  With a myriad of activities to pursue in Door County, such as hiking and biking in the parks, swimming and boating in the bay/lake, or just being “in the moment” surrounded by the diverse natural beauty of Door County, they  are often say they’re “bored”. I’ve even overheard a couple of teens say that this place should be called “Bore County, ’cause there’s nothing to do.” How could anyone really get bored here? Let me tell you there is plenty for teens to do here.!If you’re visiting Door County with teens, they have easy access to a variety of fun vacation activities. Here are a couple of things I suggest teens do on vacation. Zip lining is probably not something they would do every day, but it is a fun vacation activity. There are several spots to choose from for zip lining on the Peninsula. You can choose an adventurous wooded experience at Lakeshore Adventures Zipline or Gravity Trails Adventure, both in Baileys Harbor (just nine miles south from Birchwood Lodge) in or a short course at Egg Harbor Fun Park right on the highway. Another fun experience is a Segway tour, which generally can’t be done just anywhere. You can even take a Segway tour through Peninsula State Park. It’s fun and people of any age can enjoy it. The next time you plan a Door County visit with the kids and they start moaning and sighing about being bored, make them take out their earbuds and put away their phones for awhile and head out these adventures as the cure for boredom. Remember, Birchwood Lodge in Sister Bay is a short drive to the fun. Call us at 866-854-7195, or, go online at www.birchwoodlodge.com for reservations.
