Today is January 23, 2019, and as I write this, we’re in the midst of a true winter snowstorm, the first significant storm of this season. A light, fluffy snow (6-10 inches) due to temps in the ;low 20’s, blankets everything, everywhere. I’m writing this to entice you to come on up here to Sister Bay…SOON! Hill #17 at Peninsula Park should be open and ready for your sledding/tubing/tobogganing “thrills on the hill” this coming weekend. Pack your ice skates, too, (or rent some) for some spins around the rink in the wonderland of Sister Bay at the Theresa Highlander Rink at the Sports Core. How about some delectable hot chocolate at Al Johnson’s, or, better yet, Swedish Glogg at Northern Grill, a hot-toddy at Husby’s or some  Spanish Coiffee at Discourse Coffee. Take a winery tour and sample some of the tasty hot wine concoctions. What’s a winter escape without a Friday night Fish Fry at The Bowl? Heat up your insides with some spicy chili at JJ’s. If you have never taken a sleigh ride, you’re missing out on a beautiful, winter adventure. Schedule a ride for you and your sweetie at Laughtenbach’s Winery in Fish Creek. Heck, if you don’t want to go out and prefer to veg out in your room here, you can ease your winter aches in the whirlpool (two person) tub next to the fireplace in your room, while you watch a movie.  Don’t let the weather forecasters scare you. The roads are always safe to travel, yes, even the hill in Fish Creek, Ephraim and the Sister Bay. Call us at 866-854-7195, or reserve your suite online at www.birchwoodlodge.com.
