Spring is here and that means we are ready for the exciting tourist season to begin again in Door County.. Here at Birchwood Lodge, the staff has been hard at work getting everything ready for your visit. This year we have a fun, new addition…for kids! We have installed a new playground set/jungle gym near the tennis court. It should be an enjoyable spot for our younger guests. Speaking of the outdoors, did you know we have badminton equipment, a bocce ball set, tenni s rackets for guests?, Soon our bicycles (free use for guests) will be lined up outside in the bike racks. If you are looking for outdoor adventures in town, in the parks, or touring the backroads, we can provide you with bicycle maps and oral directions. Our staff members might even share their favorite hidden spots that tourists sometimes miss. Hint: Waters End Road, the shortest distance between the waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan is a delight for the senses as you pass orchards, farms, forests. Beach Road at the north end of Sister Bay is also a scenic, tree lined road that is a special adventure along what is called “old Sister Bay”. From sunrise on the east shore in Baileys Harbor, to a stroll along the boardwalk in the Waterfront Park, you can plan on days filled with as much – or as little – activity as you desire. To plan your Sister Bay/Door County adventure with a stay at Birchwood Lodge, reserve on-line at www.birchwoodlodge.com. or call us toll-free at 866-854-7195. We can’t wait to meet first time visitors and give a warm welcome back.to our return guests.
