Summer is fast approaching and Sister Bay in Door County will be a prime destination for people from all over the country this year. Besides the natural beauty of the area, the fantastic restaurants and waterfront activities, there is a line-up of festivals and events that you’ll enjoy here in town. The summer kicks-off on June 9th with the 6th Annual Goat Parade downtown as Al Johnson’s staff members walk with their goats along Bay Shore Drive, to be greeted by the crowd, and then make their way to their grassy rooftop perch. June 23rd is Paddlefest in Sister Bay (paddle boards will be available for rent) and your chance to try paddle-boarding if you’ve never done it before. There will also be paddle-board yoga classes conducted near the beach. The Door County Plein Air Art Festival welcomes plein air artists to shoreline and rural areas from July 22nd – 28th, for a wonderful week of outdoor painting. Artists love to converse with interested spectators as they capture the beauty of the area on canvas. LEGO lovers of all ages are invited to get inspired and be entertained at Brick Party by the Bay at the Sister Bay Village Hall on Saturday & Sunday, July 21-22, from 10:00 – 3:00pm. See amazing LEGO creations from the Wisconsin LEGO Users Group, WisLUG. Create your own LEGO designs in the hands-on Build Tent. Games and prizes. Food and Refreshments by the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Music by DJ Michael Raye. In what has become a an annual event here, the Door County Festival of the Arts will beheld in the waterfront park on August 11th. Fine art in a variety of media will be for sale by fine artists and crafters from across the midwest. Live music, provided by a roster of Door County’s favorite musicians will be staged in the area and food vendors will provide food and beverages. Be sure to mark your calendars for Marina Fest which closes the summer season during Labor Day weekend, August 31st thru September 3rd.
