Have you made your plans for New Year’s Eve yet? If not, then come up to Sister Bay for the “2nd Annual Cherry Drop”. What is the “Cherry Drop”? It is described as “similar to the Times Square ball drop in New York City, but better, because instead of a ball, it’s a giant sparkling cherry. The 300 pounds, 6 foot cherry, adorned with tiny LED lights, is complete with a stem. The cherry will be suspended over Husby’s Food and Spirits until December 31st, when hoisted by a crane over 150 feet, it slowly descends as the crowd counts down the seconds. This year, there will also be a midnight toast of cherry sparkle, a cherry vodka signature cocktail and an official Cherry Drop midnight kissing booth. A fireworks show adds to the festivities. Join other revelers and locals for this memorable evening. Best of all, by staying at Birchwood Lodge, you can just walk downtown from our property for all the fun.
