The project begins Monday, Aug. 4, and will finish in late September, according to a press release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The traffic impacts resulting from this project:
• Traffic on the four-way highway will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Sunday evening through noon on Friday from the south Wisconsin 42/57 intersection to the Bayview Bridge. Lane closures will be limited to a maximum length of three miles within the project limits.
• Starting in mid-August, traffic along Wisconsin 57 northbound from about a half-mile south of Wisconsin 42 through the Wisconsin 42/57 intersection will be reduced to one lane.
• Starting in mid-August, Wisconsin 42 northbound will be reduced to a 10-foot-wide lane from about a quarter-mile east of Wisconsin 57 to the Wisconsin 42/57 intersection.
These restrictions are expected to remain in effect until a date in September to be announced. We encourage guests coming to Birchwood Lodge during this time frame to be prepared for delays and allow extra travel time.
